With the future of the United Kingdom still hanging in the balance as a result of the massively divisive Brexit exercise and with the prospect of a potentially disastrous election result to come within the next week, I have been asked with increasing weariness what on earth is going on back in the Old Country. Whether you still live there or are now happily resident in another part of the globe I recommend this piece by Pankaj Mishra in The Guardian as a means of gleaning some small understanding.
